Impressionist Gardens at the National Galleries

I've just been looking at the National Galleries of Scotland's Impressionist Gardens iPhone app and thought you might be interested.

Impressionist Gardens at the National Galleries of Scotland's National Gallery Complex is a major international exhibition examining the significance, origins, and influence of the impressionist garden.

The famous names of Impressionism are well represented, with fine examples by Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Manet and Sisley. The exhibition examines the continued significance of the Impressionist garden to the generation of artists working immediately after the Impressionists, such as CÈzanne and Bonnard. A final section examines the spread of the Impressionist garden in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. European and American artists such Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt and John Singer Sargent will feature in this section.

You can use the iPhone app to find out more about the art in the show and also during your visit to the National Gallery complex or the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The app includes video and audio specially created to support the Impressionist Gardens exhibition, as well as a map to allow visitors to find six inspiring viewpoints around the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.

For more information, go to the National Galleries of Scotland Website for Impressionist Gardens .
